I'm thinking its time to change out the antifreeze in my dart, But I want to get out as much of the old antifreeze as possible. Is there a drain plug on the block somewhere so I can drain out more of the old stuff ?? I kind of looked around at it but didnt see anything.
Any other ideas for doing a complete drain ?

There is usually a plug that screws into the block on the passenger side near the firewall. It's often easier to see from the underside.

A good idea is to remove the heater core hoses from the engine and backflush with a garden hose.

Might help to remove the thermostat during the flush, but reassembling the hose/housing.

The plug is just aft of the oil filter. Take it out and you may have to poke in a screwdriver to loosen the crud. Don't worry, you won't hurt anything. You may also have to stand on your wrench to get the plug to turn...I know I did! Replace the plug with a petcock to make future cleanings easier.

Prestone actually makes a flush kit that works real well you splice a T conector in to you heater hose that your garden hose will hook up to then their is a spout that goes whare your radiator cap goes and it spits all the water out when you run the car

P.S. I posted a while back about my heater not putting out much heat. I changed out the heater core a couple weeks ago. And now it makes great heat. The old core must have been a little crudded up inside.

The Prestone kit work real well. I'd stay away from removing that plug from the engine block. Check out that kit, Advance and O'Riely and auto zone should carry it.

I prefer to remove the plug. That is where all the crud settles in the block.

Be sure to use a snug fitting box end wrench or a 6-point socket or you'll round off the corners. This is assuming it has a hex head plug like all of mine have.

Pull the plug. it will flush so much faster if you drain the block first.

Seconded, actually when flushing the system with a garden hose you will get sediment out of the water jackets more effectively with the plug out than by any other method. That plug is right at the bottom corner of the water jacket.
