My 66 Dart Wag has a curious fuel gauge prob. When the tank is full, it reads full. When the tank is down 1/4 it reads empty. The temp gauge is unaffected (reads properly and predictably.) Is this a faulty gauge?ground? limiter? sending unit? or . . . ? Any help is much appreciated :D

Sounds like a broken resistance wire in the sender unit. While the wiper
is above the break the gauge works fine. When the wiper is below the
break the broken wire effectively causes an open circuit to the gauge.

A sunk float usually makes the gauge read low all the time - So I do not
think it is a sunk float.

I swapped the sending unit and the gauge woke right up. Thanks!
