I am pulling the 904 out and putting in an A33 4spd. Will i have to get another x member for the tail shaft mounting point??????? I can make one custom if necessary. just need to know if i need to gather the stuff or if the factory auto xmember will do it with or with out modification

I did a search on this and I know it can be done. It didnt adress my specific question about the cross member

thanks

I'm pretty sure the trans X member is the same.

Yep, it's the same. What I'm not sure of, though, is if there are different-length tailhousings for the 833 as there are for the automatics. I bet there are!

The trans mount is in the same place on the auto, no matter what tailshaft length. If he has an A-body 833 the original crossmember will work. If he has an E or B body he will have to fabricate for shifter clearance.
