I have power discs on my Duster. I'll be swapping to manual actually. but for now, the motor dies when i press the brake and its park. idling at about 800rpm. even more so when its in drive with the brake.

any suggestions? The line from the intake to the booster doesnt leak. But i believe the master cylinder is shot...possibly could the booster just turn into a massive vacuum leak and kill the motor?

Unhook the hose from the booster and plug it. Then see if it still stalls. The diaphragm inside these things can sometimes start to leak.

I'll have to try that. The booster pumps a couple times fine after the motor is stopped. But i think the seals on the m/c are shot...so maybe its somewhat related.

Also, when i shut the motor off with the key. (usually at about 800rpm). It shakes the car pretty good. Possibly ignition related or anything...or check the motor mounts?

It sounds like you have abruptured brake boostyer diaphragm.. THis happened to me once on my 84 Ford van and the symptoms are exactly as you describe.

The leak coul be leaning you motor out to the point that you are having a lean backfire when the motor shuts off.
