No modern rear disc setup swaps over directly to a Mopar rear end. There are some various hack approaches that people use but nothing is really clean.

Best kit I've seen so far is the one that DoctorDiff sells. He uses Mustang calipers, Toyota rotors and a CNC machined bracket to hang it all together. His kit keeps the tapered roller bearings in the axle which is a big plus. Lots of other kits force you to swap in the Green ball bearings.

I think the Baer kit is also pretty good and Eberg likes the SSBC kit but for my money I'd go with DoctorDiff's.

Thanks for chiming in, Andy.

FWIW, the tsm-mfg.com kit keeps the tapered roller bearings, so no issues there.

The Jeep swap within the link I posted doesn't sound like a "Hack job", and has minimal mods. I haven't done it but it looks rather simple. Am I missing something?

Andy,

I would be interested in what criteria you consider to give a "clean" brake swap that is not a hack job.

Thanks,

Lou

I'm guessing Andy would have no appreciation for the models I built as a kid. Isn't that the fun of working on cars as an adult?

Andy probably built models as a kid too. He is an unusually creative and competent guy, so I am genuinely interested in his thoughts. That said, I have a kit on my car that works very well for me that he did not think was "clean." Hopefully he will chime in here with some wisdom.

I am a bit more fast and loose than Andy is, and it has worked for me (and been fun). Still, there is always more to learn from those with more experience...

Cheers,

Lou
