Greg, great documentation as always!

I gotta ask why you still have the front quarter panel Valiant 100 emblems, and turn signal lights on the car. Must be almost half a pound right there!

Brian
'Cause I like them.. I cant remove stuff I like now...

Maybe I will put 3 Marker Lights and 2 Emblems on the RR quarter for better weight Distrubition....without getting rid of the stuff I like :-)

I know you love this mark!

Hey it's rewarding but possibly not as much as picking up .12 by adding 4* timing - Now that was easy! :D :o  8)

Now you have me really thinking.I run 28 and havent really played with it much,I have a dial back in car that I retard to about 15 for starting, then dial it to a stop I put on it at 28.My cam and combo is different, but it would bee easy to pull my pin stop and try running 30,then 32.Thats as far as I could go without moveing dist.Ya got me thinking. My gut feeling is my car is going to like the 28 the best.Guzzi Mark

On my stuff the dyno doesn't show any HP gains from running over 28 degrees but that doesn't mean that on the track a few more degrees couldn't be benefical, especailly in the lower gears. Time slips trump dyno readings every time. I have been using an MSD three stage retard with a switch on the shifter that retards 2 degrees in high gear so I am running 30 degrees in first and second and 28 in third. I try to run a conservative set up, a little less timing, a little less compression, a little rich but Mark is pushing me. You are doing good work Greg.

Well after fiddling with the timing a bit more My engine seems to like 34*

And with slightly worse air than 2 weeks ago (About .25" of mercury Less on my barometer)
I was able to set at least 4 new personal best records. (not all on the same Run)

1.80 60'
8.08 1/8th
12.69 1/4
106.xx 1/4 MPH

I will have to scan and post the Timeslips a bit later.

CLICKY TO WATCH VIDEO OF THE 12.69 RUN! Against another gold 4 door mopar :-)

Congrats, Greg! I wonder if your timing marks are accurate? 34 deg is a lot, but who knows.

Better converter and you'll be knocking on Gary Bruner and Ron Parker territory!

Good job Greg, you have to be pleased with a 12:69!! There are alot of big tire cars that don't run that quick with a V8. What stall is your convertor?
All that metal dieting & tuning is really paying off.
Keep digging.

Thanks Derek,

The converter is supposed to be 3500, but it is one of the issues now.. I just think that it does not stall that high, another one (that is Looser) is in the works and will be installed when time allows.

Also in the Works is a graphic Treatment for the sides of the car - Taking the 70's duster Script and Copying the "R" at the end of duster and adding it to the beginning in place of the "D" it will be a true 1968 Plymouth RUSTER!.
