Well it's all back together and up on the trailer ready to hit TNT next week.

I have all 3 gears and no Leaks and it moves on it's own power..
I used Lots of Red loctite on the Flexplate & Converter bolts.

We shall see what it can do.

I try to.. It's sometimes hard to get a good Cameraman, but my dad is usually around and he is getting better with the Video.

When I go faster than 12.24 I will post it.

I got a lightweight steering wheel for ruster..

It weighs only 1.6#

The old stock wheel was 4.6#.. Weight savings of 3.01# off the drivers side front!

I would use tubular DOM steel or CrMo tubular to make a steering shaft. Aluminum has much worse fatigue characteristics than steel, and a steering shaft is pretty important.

Yeah, and a CrMo tube will probably be lighter. :D

Good thoughts.. I Was not thing tubular I was thinking solid AL... But if I went with hollow CrMo 3/4" tube i could weld the stock ends to it and call it a day.

All in the name of getting closer to that 2000# weight with driver !

They sell hollow DOM tubing at Speedway Motors and places like that for just this purpose. I think you can even get a Mopar box/joint spline on one end.

A piece of .058 wall .75 diameter 4130 will work good. Check the Chassis suppliers for a 3 bolt steering wheel flange with a 3/4" hole. If you are going to use the stock steering box cut off the end of one with the splines on it and turn it down so it will plug into the end of your tube and weld it on. TIG You can make a steering colum out of aluminum tubing or just use a pillow block bearing on the shaft.

Well I think I am going to Order some 4130 tube from onlinemetals. com to make my under Dash bar and the Front down tubes.. All of the Bars are here for the Roll bar... I also am going to order some 4130 3/4" tube to replace my stering shaft. I will be adding all of that this winter :-)

I ordered an engine plate From Edd J.. Waiting to hear back from him on when it will ship..

I just got done finishing up a 4.86 Chunk... I will be trying that out in the spring. :-)
