But it's also threaded; you'll need the bolt to press it on anyway, might as well leave it so you can use it to rotate the engine.

Its a 3/4 inch x 16 threads per inch bolt. Have fun finding one. I snagged out of a 383 for mine.

yeah, not your local hardware store item. perhaps one of the mopar performance bolts would work. or try a bolt and screw supply house.

Some Slants had one from the factory, some didn't.

Hello all.

I like to put the bolt in cause I usually work alone and the bolt makes it easier for me to turn the crank when doing static timing (before starter, etc. are in). A super good bolt store here sells them for about 1.50. I like Grade 8, cause one of my FSM's says 210 ft. lbs torque, while another says 135 ft lbs. Both mopar pubs too. I would be glad to give anyone the phone number of the store if interested. I redid every bolt in my truck with stainless from them, and used chrome on the engine compartment.

IIRC it is the same as a LA smallblock bolt.
if so, it would be easy to find in a J-yard for used.
I think ARP sells new ones that should handle anything a slant can put out
