I have replaced the rear main seal on my van twice, and it still leaks. Is there any speedy sleeve for this 1979 slant 6 or another kind of seal that works better? has any one else had this problem?

Hi Kit,

In a hurried moment I almost put one of the seals in backwards once. VERY easy to do, are you certain the lip is pointing the right way? I ask cause I have never had one fail.....oh did you also use a torque wrench to tighten the aluminum seal block under the crank rather than guess at if it was tight enough? It's more important than many torques..
