Here's my old car with the carb off. Just picture a Holley with the primaries toward the driver's side. The linkage pulls the primaries open. The bellcrank is just a piece of 1/8" thick 1" steel strap with a 3/8" hole drilled in the middle. It pivots on a bent 3/8" bolt in the cylinder head lifting hole. There is a washer on either side of the bellcrank and a nylock nut holding it up. A lock nut on the bottom of the bolt keeps the works in place.

I think you just solved 1/2 of my carb mount prob;your sublimely simple stud & bellcrank WAY easier than my Rube Goldberg-esque concotion(s) necessated by my insistance on having the primaries parallel to the head and on the outside(driverside) of the int.manifold.
Now I've got the kick-down/line-pressure (trans) linkage to figure out,am trying to visualize how to incorperate a GM/Lokar TV cable onto the stud & bellcrank assy. Not having a kickdown rod (there) will be helpful when time comes to install header(s) :D Warren

After going back & reviewing your posted photo the solution was aparrent, just tie the TV cable end to the throttle cable end. Any geometry/range of travel issues pertaining to the trans's line pressure lever can be solved by lengthening or shortening the lever. Theoretically.
