I have an industrial slant six that I'm putting into my '67 A-100 van. The block is marked IND 225 and has some massive counterweights on the crank.

One odd thing is that my damper requires a bolt to hold onto the nose of the crank. Anyone run into this before?

If your damper won't stay on the crank without a bolt, then the damper or (less likely) crankshaft is damaged.

Just to add. Nothing looks out of the ordinary. The crank has the keyway as normal, but the strange thing is that the crank nose is splined as is the inside of the balancer. Odd.
