Hughes roller timing set
12 Hughes valve lifters

engnbldr Valves with guides
engnbldr 340 valve springs

12 Push rods

1 Harmonic balancer

I have also received my 2 Weber carbs

And now the main thing - the cam.....

Have a choice of ISKY 264/264 228@0.050 .448 46 deg overlap LSA 109,
or ISKY 256/256 210@50 .425 32 deg overlap LSA 112deg

They are both here but can only afford one :(

The Isky 264 for sure. The shorter duration, wider lobe center 256 cam would idle well, but would give up a lot of torque.

Did you get valve spring retainers? I like the Comp Cams retainers better than the ones Engnbldr sells. There are no tool marks on the Comp retainers.

And with all this in mind - what cr to run :? 9.3 ~ 9.5 it has a longer duration at 50 that the 264 erson and i was recommended to use 9.5 with that unit :? :?

Wow lookin' good under that tree! Under mine I have an Offy valve cover and engine builder valves. Cam selection has been a mystery to me as well. Thanks Lou for trying to help. When I built a 318 and a 440 I used a Hemi grind ( same specs as a stock 426) cam and that worked very well. I am glad I am on a budget. That way I can learn the right combination for my build rather than run out buying parts helter skelkter.

That looks a lot like what's under my Christmas tree! :D

I've got an Offy cover, EngineBuilder Valves, 340 springs.

I'm going to need to get some retainers too. I guess I'll be checking out CompCams for theirs unless there's good reason to look elsewhere.

Prematurely? Donno. There's about...15 or 20 percent white in it, even when it's fully thawed. It doesn't bother me; bring it on, ho-ho-ho!

Dear Slanta Claus-

I want an aussie speed intake manifold and gasket set.
A shiney new carb.
And a set of dutra duals for Christmas.
Oh and world peace....But you could skip that last one as long as I get the Dutra Duals

Yes, 340 style retainers are what you need. Comp Cams part number 744-12 or if you want extras -16.

9.5:1 would be fine with the Isky cam.
