0.035" (stock) worked best on my '64 w/Pertronix. I don't think I'd go larger than 0.040". It's better than points, but it ain't HEI or MSD.

Right now I think it is set at .035 and it runs fine, just seeing if it can run better! I have the HEI/Blaster 2 in my truck and the Pertronix/Blaster 2 in Nikki 66 dart and think that I get a little better spark from the Pertronix.

I'm using a pertronix 1

pertronix 3 ohm coil

Low resistance spiral metal core plug wires (borq-warner lifetim warranty)

and

Autolite extended tip 985 plugs.

gapped at .044

Runs great, no misfires.

I picked up a new cap, B&W wires and a set of NKG "Jeep" plugs (the long ones). I will have Nikki gap them at .037 when she gives the 66 a tune up tomorrow and we will see how it works.
