If anyone else is crazy enough to care or wants to buy a light flywheel made for the Stock Slant 6 bell housings in the 122 Tooth ring gear configuration, I was able to get in contact with RAM Clutches to get 3 of these made for myself.
They have my order# on file and the appropriate CAD and CAM files to make more for you if you wish.
At the time of purchase ~3 weeks ago in October 2025, They charged me $650 per flywheel which I feel is appropriate. Their raw material costs are rising and they honored the quoted price that we discussed in back in ~August 2025. Very kind on their part.

I was able to get in touch with Mike over the summer at RAM.
It took a while but I was able to get 3 of the Semi-Custom Slant 6 Billet AL Flywheels produced for my Slant 6 Road Racing Setups and or Future projects.
We owe a big thank you to Dan Brewer of Brewers Performance as well. He has RAM Clutches Stocking stock type billet steel 122T slant 6 flywheels and he gave me direct contact Info for Mike to get this project started.
The Aluminum parts I share here are not stocking part#'s but can be made on a to be ordered basis.

Specifications and Pictures below:

*122 Tooth
*Fits in Stock Slant 6 Bell Housings Such as:
**3 Speed AL
**4 Speed '64-'66 Cast Iron
**4 Speed 833 OD Multi-pattern 1975-87 AL.
* Large Bore Crank Pocket (easily adapted to 1960-1967 Cranks with an annular adapter that I have made here locally).
* Weighs 10.1 - 10.09#
* Can Accept a Ø9.25" to 10" clutch disc
* RAM has my Order # if anyone else would be interested and willing to shell out the ca$h. They can make these with 3 Pressure plate patterns:
* I had 3 flywheels made in different configurations. Can be made with 2 patterns on a single flywheel.
* Available Pressure Plate Bolt Patterns:
**Stock Borg and Beck Slant 6 9.25" / 10"
**Ford / Mazda 10" Diaphragm (2001-2011 For d Ranger with 4.0 V6)
**RAM 9.5" Pressure Plate

How does the weight compare to the original units? I am going the T5 route in the future so being able to buy a new LIGHT flywheel that already has the ford PP pattern would save on machine shop time.

I have yet to weigh an OE part, but I have them available for such comparisons.
Give me a minute to get that for ya.

They are heavy, I can assure you, and the Flywheel is an angular momentum part. So someone smarter than me can better explain the physics of it all. For a svelte street car or a road racer, you want the ability to blip the throttle and not need to spin up / change the inertia of a big, heavy thing. We already have that in the stock ~75 # crankshaft.

Greg

I remember years ago when I played around with the old 2.2 turbo cars that the aluminum flywheel was suggested as one of the best upgrades you could get for a build. My valiant (65 2drht) is likely pretty close in weight to a full option G-body daytona. I would eventually like to build a high rev turbo 170 for the car, but I am sure the 225 would appreciate the lighter flywheel as well.

My memory is that the heavy flywheel is to help get a large heavy car moving from a stop. My car isn't heavy and the gearing that will come with the T5 swap makes that even less of an issue.

Kinda makes me curious about how well the OE flywheels were actually balanced when produced. Chrysler had some questionable quality control and machining tolerances and something that heavy could certainly be out of balance.

My all steel racing flywheel weighs only 16.5# and that is for a 10.5" clutch. I thought I remembered that the factory flywheels were 28-30#?? (I was only off by about 10#!) Yours look sweet and should rev quickly! :D

Stock slant 6 iron flywheel is right around 20#. The lightest aluninum flywheel I've seen for a Slant is just under 10# and the wilcap ones are like 10-11#. These look like beautiful units, Greg, and at a very fair price. This is a fair bit of work, and I really appreciate it!

I plan to order 1-2 of them, likely with the 9.5" PP and whatever disc looks best.

Thanks a ton!
Lou
