I'd already pulled the oil pan once to weld in a bung for the turbo oil line. In hindsight, I should have put a new rear main seal in there then. Now I have the oil pan off a second time, and I'm not looking forward to dealing with those four separate gaskets all having to stay in place. Are there any one-piece gasket options? All I've been able to find are the Mahle / Fel Pro sets with cork side gaskets and rubber front / rear gaskets.

The "Real Gaskets" guy from Tennessee has some kind of silicone oilpan gasket, but not one piece, I think. Maybe just the side rails in silicone? Hard to make a one piece one with this design... I use "The Right Stuff" gasket sealer on all surfaces and make sure to carefully pull the nubs through the pan (rear piece) and timing cover (front piece) with a needle nose pliers. If careful, you can do it w/o leaks. I get everything ready to go, make sure the pan and TC are straight, and then go for it (15 min of gooping/smoothing/sweating) to get it all bolted snug before the sealer dries. This has worked well for me for many pan jobs.

The real gaskets... I tried them. Silicone side rails. Stock type front and rear gaskets near rear main and under timing cover. I bumped mine with a bit of solvent or thinner on tear down and it changed size. Went back to a regular 4 piece gasket.
Just goop it correctly and it will be okay.

I use black rtv and some time let it set for an hour before i tighten.. keeps some of the goop put and prevents squeezeout/ slide around.

Got the pan back on, RTV needs to dry. Let's hope the oil stays inside this time...

Unfortunately, something went wrong. Hopefully I can just get a big gob of RTV on the back as I think it was the rear rubber seal that isn't doing its job.

I have studied about this with my 66 Dart. If one leak will be fixed two more will be found soon. Every second bolt has been drilled to water/oil/brake fluid/wind shield cleaner reservoir/tranny fluid/rear end oil. Even wheel bolts seem to have be sealed...

Looks like it was the oil pan gasket there and not the rear main seal, at least. I'll see if a blob of RTV is enough.

On second thought, probably better to just change out the gasket.
