Ooo. Oops. I have not had that problem, but there it is!

Probably whoever started making the headers after Clifford died (or later in his game) did not check their intakes carefully and just built them with a few new shortcuts.

They mean the Clifford Weber 3X2 intake. All Clifford headers are supposed to fit the standard 4bbl intakes.

Sorry for the long delay in updates.

Got the grill, headlights, and bumper supports installed.
Blacked out the rad support, never liked the old pictures with the aluminum showing through.

I have one good transmission apart to ship to Liberty tomorrow.
Case gets steel bushings, front and rear.
Faceplated 2,3, 4th gears and new sliders.
Also cryo treatment, and thermal stabilization.

Front header section has been cut, welded, beat on and now fits chassis.
Rear section awaits.

Fitting the mid mount brackets to frame for bellhousing.
Both front spindles have been smoothed and semi-polished.
Both steering arms have been fitted with countersunk screws to prevent ball joint rips.
One Rack and Pinion mount is at machine shop to allow more damper clearance.

"Good" motor is on the engine stand getting cleaned up.
Found a couple of piston kisses in 2 and 6. Before rev limiter!
Going to drop the pan and check the bearings.
Going to use the big valve head after I CC the chambers and change springs.
Big valve is an old head with 1.82 Red Ram intakes and 1.50 318 exhaust valves.
Yes, the bore has a little notch on the intake side.

My job was eliminated due to Covid business downturn, my last work day is 5th of August.
Then I will be officially Retired.

I am sure I left out something along the way.

Yea, people say, What are you going to do in retirement?!?!?
Simple answer, all the things I couldn't do when I was working for someone else!
Now I work for me, pay is low but the conversations are great.

I will try and keep you guys more in the loop.

Been awhile, let me see it I remember everything.
Officially retired, got my last paycheck in the bank today.
Trans is at Liberty, I will post pictures after I pay and get it back.
After too many mistakes with the 4130 chrome moly and header tubes....
I purchased a TIG welder and have been teaching myself how to weld.
Don't ground your Tungsten, don't ground your Tungsten, don't ground your Tungsten......
Tack welded the mid plate mounts to the mid plate tube today in 100+ degree heat.
Building the transmission crossmember also.
I will remove the mock up motor tomorrow and finish weld the mounts.
The Tilton starter mounts in the big block starter location, easy peasy.
I found a 10 quart cast aluminum oil pan and a tach drive distributor.
Countersunk screws in Passenger side spindle.
Rack and Pinion mount re-machined to move outboard for damper clearance.
I guess those are the highlights.

I like to grind the tungsten after i have grounded the tungsten.

You gotta burn to earn as they say in welding class... meaning practice more.

Yeah, you can't just casually mention something like that without pictures.
