I am doing a lean burn conversion on a 1983 d150 slant 6. Should a holly 1945 model 1975 Dodge truck work for laneburn conversion for this 1983 Slant six. On the carburetor I want to get it has the numbers r8994, 6049, 3118, 2029, 0833. I made a mistake this carburetor is not rebuilt by Holly it is remanufactured by Holly

I know this may not be in the cards right now, but going to a 2 barrel carb on these anemic engines makes a world of difference.

Those Economaster 1945s are a really good score. They have all the updates and refinements (and fixes) absent in the '74-'76 1945s, plus more. They come with a lean main jet, but that is easily and inexpensively changed for a thoughtfully-chosen larger one, and then the engine will run great.
