Hi Dan,

After trying an aftermarket 318 BBD carb from China and facing the same idle stability issue (+new issue of flooding), I looked on the forum and found a guide to distributor rebuilding.
It then pointed me to a service gear needing pin hole adjustment when replacing to cancel excessive play on the drive shaft - I remember I didn’t do that procedure.
Rather than drilling new holes in the service gear, I simply have put back the original gear as it was in good shape. The idle issued has gone :)
Now I have a spare Chinese BBD, maybe I will reuse some parts of it later to pimp my remanufactured Rockauto BBD (any articles/thoughts on mixing a 318 BBD with a /6 BBD?) .

On this note thank you again for your and others assistance :)

Does anyone has any pictures or diagrams how factory air intake flex hose should be routed and where connected from the air box on a super six option in an A-body in the 70's? Specifically in '73 Dart Sport models?

This seems to be the last element I have missing in my 198 to 225 super six conversion. Thanks!

Attached are pictures of my current engine bay without the hose.

The A-Body never had a Super Six option, so there is no provision for the air hose off the air cleaner. On the F-bodies, the inlet was between the battery and the radiator, where it attached to a plastic pipe that had its inlet opening down by the bumper.

The Super Six air cleaner is nothing more then a 318 air cleaner with a fancy decal. You could always substitute the base from a early '70s 318 air cleaner to get a more period correct look.

Nice looking engine compartment.
