I have a 1983 d150 slant six with a ford 4 speed transmission not sure what type. I saw on ad on Facebook of this guy selling a New Process NP435 4-speed transmission manual with bell housing for Dodge flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, driveshaft, PTO (Power Take Off) gearbox. Included would this fit my slant six if not what would I need to do. He says it came from the factory on a 440. Also is this a granny transmission or would acceleration be quicker.

No it won't fit. If it was on a 440 then the belhousing, flywheel...etc is different than a Slant 6.

That NP435 was used in both Dodge and Ford
What "Ford trans" is in your truck?
The 435 had a removable bell housing, with the right bell housing and flywheel that trans could go behind a /6.

No clue all I know is that it's a 4 speed. Couldn't really ever find any information on it what used parts could I find for the transmission to fit.

Your '83 D150 (2wd) slant would have had an A833OD 4 speed with super tall .71/1 top gear. Anything 4wd (W100 and up) and any D/W250, D/W350 would have had the A435 heavy duty trans with grannie 1st gear.

I really don't think it's the A833 I'll take pictures of it when I change out the throw out bearing. Because when I replaced the clutch I was told it wasn't a dodge but a ford clutch.

For sure not a 833 OD. That is a "top loader".

I've been having issues trying to id the transmission. All I know is that it's a ford since it has a ford clutch in it.
