Never liked the bumpers on the early Valiant, plus mine were all dinged-up and rusty. Rear bumper I flipped, cut and welded then painted. Removed the toilet seat. Front, I just made my own valance and added some '65 barracuda turn signals. Paint is Rustoleum, flat white, gloss oyster white mixed 1 to 1.

Very cool.

I like the clean lack of lines on the trunk..

What transmission are you running in the car?

Greg

The engine is the original 170 bored .040 over. Compression is 10.0 to 1. The block and head were both shaved about .080 or .090, don't remember exactly. Steel shim head gasket. It's hard to get compression on a 170! Head has 1.81" big block exhaust valves on the intakes. Stock exhaust valves. Ported as much as I dared. Super six intake and bbd carb. I had the Erson rv10 cam and It ran very well, very peppy. But it seemed to want more carb so I made an adapter and installed a Rochester 2G that I had off of a Pontiac 350. Ran well but now it wanted more cam. So I got a Oregon 645 grind. specs. 228 @ .050" 114 lsa .296" lobe lift. Really like this cam, runs really well, but seems it wants more. I can't really go any bigger with the cam because of piston to valve clearance. So I guess I'll just run it like this for now. I don't want to get to much of this sickness or I'll never get any else done!

Good stuff, thanks for sharing.

Do you have small bolt pattern in front and big bolt pattern in the rear with the ford 8.8?

It looks like you have a front sway bar... what application is it for?

Thanks

Thanks Greg. Yes it's small bolt pattern in the front, trying to keep the weight down. The disc brakes still weigh about 2lbs more per side. The sway bar was off of a '57 Desoto, I think it was 3/4". I had to cut it down and weld some new ends on it. Makes all the difference in handling. I think there are many possible donors at the junk yard. Just want to make sure that it's inside the strut rods or the calipers will hit.
